Red Raven Art Gallery

We are so excited to introduce you to our newest working member to Red Raven Robert Pictou. Custom orders welcome.
Now that I think back on it, beading was my mother’s way of stopping us kids arguing that happened quite frequently during the bitter cold winter days in the Maritimes. Ask anyone who does art and they will tell you it is hard to argue and create art at the same time. So there we were, all 13 of us sitting around the table beading, our projects in different skill levels as well as completion.

Every now and then, when I would get too big for my britches, think I was all that and a cup of tea, my Mom would pull out those projects I did at the age of six and ask if I had gotten any better. LOL.

Eighth grade introduced me to the world of black & white photography. I found a kind of peace in the rituals of processing film. It nibbled during college but it wasn’t until I attended the Institute of American Indian Arts with the focus on 3D (Silversmith) and 2D (photography) the camera bug bit again. I discovered this helped me while attending British Columbia Institute of Technology Television Broadcast program.

I will be eternally grateful for the facility and students at the Freda Diesing School of Northwest Coast Art for their honest critic / guidance of my beadwork / photography, reflecting the place I now call Home.
